I haven't been to Kings Cross for a few years, but I previously recall a bell going off on occasion by the buffers (between Platforms 0-8). I assume they're still used- does anyone know what these bells are for and why they go off?

Normally 3 minutes before departure I think? Bell means platform now closed, departure process can now start. Staff pull the barrier across to stop access to platform.
