Tartar sauce on chips is nice but not on your breakfast, that’s weird!Slightly off topic, but not much.
I had to sit watching a friend of mine put tartare sauce on a 'Spoons breakfast once. He did it intentionally and claimed to enjoy it. I was too sleep deprived and hungover to properly clock it at first.
Thoughts please?![]()
My gran used to boil bacon rather than frying/grilling. I’ve never known anyone else do it.As to washing bacon, I've never done that but a very good cooking style is to start with a little bit of water in the pan so that the initial cooking process is closer to boiling than frying.
Depending on how old she was, that may well make sense. Before refrigeration was widespread, bacon used to be a lot saltier than it is these days. You have to boil old-school ham before you cook it, for example (bonus points for guessing how I figured that one out!)My gran used to boil bacon rather than frying/grilling. I'd like to see it tried. Imagine the backlashKetchup. They should fill the potholes in with brown saucs.
No...they should be filled in with marmite.Ketchup. They should fill the potholes in with brown saucs.
You can pry my marmite from my cold, dead, salty hands.No...they should be filled in with marmite.

That would probably be more resilient than whatever rubbish my local council uses... at least once it had been there long enough for a skin to form on the top!Ketchup. They should fill the potholes in with brown saucs.
Backsplash, surely?I'd like to see it tried. Imagine the backlash
According to articles from the time the West Midlands factory closed, the factory the sauce is made at is actually in the eastern part of the Netherlands, in the province of Gelderland and not in Holland.HP Sauce no longer made in Birmingham . (but in Holland !)
Shocking mateBacksplash, surely?![]()
