Slightly peculiar topic here, but some work I am doing leads me to consider the Keadby bridge (near Althorpe station) - Officially King George V bridge.
Old Bascule raising bridge that was disabled some time in the 50s and converted into a fixed span.
Does anyone have any idea how much, approximately, it would cost to either a) restore the bridge to lifting operation with its 150' wide clear channel, or b) replace it with a new single swing bridge?
Not looking for an exhausted estimate, but tens of millions, hundreds of millions or billions of pounds?
Also any approximate idea of timescale from a decision thats uch a thing is wanted to the bridge being available for traffic/opening.
