Jubilee Line - 6th June

Just got an email from TFL advising me there may be no Jubilee line service next Wednesday due to some strike or other. This appears to have come totally out of the blue - as a passenger, so no point in telling me it what posted ages ago on some obscure union website!
Any ideas what it's all about? If it goes ahead it'll be a right pain.

RMT General Secretary Mick Cash said the new timetables "ride roughshod" over rostering agreements and said drivers were "angry at the impact on work-life balance".

Transport for London (TfL) said the timetable "will benefit thousands".

Aslef official Finn Brennan said the the new rosters increased the number of Saturdays drivers have to work...

Also, talks taking place today at ACAS to try and resolve.
The District Line action is likely to be suspended.

Been in all the London press and new websites since it was announced. I was even on holiday abroad and still managed to view it on my tablet on news websites when the ballot result was announced

I don't live in London apart from during the week so I wouln't have looked at any London websites when I was away.

ACAS talks broke down today so unless there's a significant shift from one side or the other then the strike is on. Worth noting there's a repeat strike on the 14th.

All to do with the new timetable.

New timetable has a small increase in weekend working which goes directly against agreements made as part of the last pay deal to either freeze or reduce weekend working. Unions made management aware before timetables were released. Management said tough. Unions balloted and got a (very) strong mandate. Stalemate ensued...

I go Willesden Green to Aldgate so I'm assuming my best bet is walk to Cricklewood Thameslink and change at Farringdon for the Met.

I would say that would be your best bet although thameslink are cancelling a shed load of trains at present with this new timetable so probably be a headache as well. Another option could be if you can get to Willesden Junction then either Bakerloo to Baker Street or London overground to Euston then walk Euston Square to Aldgate another option

Btw wasn’t having a go at you earlier sorry if I came across that way

Cricklewood is less than a mile but Willesden Junct is over 2 miles away according to Google.

Not a problem at all. I just see these forums as the definitive guide for all things railway so was slightly surprised a thread had hadn't appeared already.

I've read that some Met services to Baker St will call at Willesden Green tomorrow. Presumably if that happens they will be infrequent and ramageddon.

A colleague mentioned this morning to me that the District action was suspended and the Jubilee remained pending — was he misinformed, or are they both now called off?

Both are now called off, but the Jubilee only in the last hour or so. Your college would have been correct this morning.

Common sense prevails although it would have been quite novel using the Met platform at Willesden Green.
