Quality! Mind you, Hydro, do you reckon there's potential for it on the NMT...

An expensive piece of equipment that doesn't work properly and gets forgotten about after about 20 minutes of operation? I'm surprised it's not on there already!

They kind of glossed over how they laid 10 miles (real miles, not model miles) of double track overnight, including all the little wooden ramps and stuff to get over obstacles. That 'Track-o-Matic' certainly wouldn't have done it!

I suspect they may have done as it was shown the first time how it was done - this time I think they probably wanted to put more emphasis on the attempt itself

Also worth pointing out that the trail was closed for two days this time, rather than the one day in the first attempt, so I guess that a lot of track laying was done the day before.

An interesting fact, I guess a lot of track laying would be necessary!

Agreed, I did think there was a lot of emphasis on the track laying, fishplate 'assembly line' et al the first time round, so was pleased they spent more time on running the engines.
