Fair to say it feels like RDR2 was truly the lab for most of what will land in GTA6. The honour system, the lack of old-style cutscenes and more player-controlled involvement in scripted scenes, the effect of lifestyle on characters etc. Reportedly the NPC ai has been markedly improved and there is a depth to the overall world that's never been seen elsewhere.

Graphically there is so much to digest. Cyberpunk 2077 is a stunning-looking game but this as a representation of a real world location is on another level. Visually I don't think that 27 minute preview skipped a beat.
Yeah I’m sure it’s far more detailed and better than cyberpunk btw. I’m not too much of a gamer but think that I disliked the first person view in that game and though the world was detailed as it could be in certain things.

I always wait until at least a few days have passed before I buy a game.

This way, if it turns out to be a complete turd, I don't end up wasting money and installation time. Also, I have low faith in devs' "minimum specs", as the games run like absolute disasters in my experience; hence, I tend to wait until I know what to expect from my build.

That said, I am looking forward to it coming out; it's been a long time since GTA V, and that game got stale real fast.

I didn't even like GTA5 much as I found it too linear. I just want to get in a car and drive and not be forced to do stupid missions.

This line confuses me. Other than having to do the prologue mission you could get in a car and drive and avoid missions if necessary, the map wasn't locked like previous games. But then surely buying a game like GTA and wanting to avoid missions defeats the object of buying it? Sounds like you're looking for more of a Forza experience.

You'll have plenty of time to save up for an even better build considering it could be 18-24 months before the PC release.

Released on Netflix at 8pm this evening UK time and will be on R*'s official YT channel at 2am though you can find it on other channels already.

The game looks astonishing. Rumours suggest all the footage was captured from a base PS5. I'm hoping a couple of the UI elements are tidied up (for instance the weapon wheel looks unfinished) but what I saw tonight makes GTA V look like Horace Goes Skiing.

I think the ui is more dynamic as the health bar looks like classic GTA’s , although on the left top of screen, but only popped up in the video when the players were shooting or eating.

I don't mind the character and environment interactions but the morality system, cinematic cutscenes and scripted sequences really won't do the game any favours for me. My biggest concern is that RDR2, as great a game as it is, was so successful that the developers will try to emulate it as much as possible including painfully linear mission design that puts cinematics before gameplay and an overly long campaign even though nobody ever really complained about a GTA game being too short.

I’m very interested in it, as the open world in GTA games is unbeatable, when compared to other games I’ve played. Even GTA IV, which is almost 2 decades old, has a realistic world, with its own version of New York. I played it recently, and it doesn’t feel particularly dated.

The main thing stopping me playing the new GTA is the cost of a PS5. I cannot really justify that sort of money sadly.
