If the lack of railways wasn't an issue, West Wight.

For practical reasons, Newbury would be a good place.

Where I am at the moment - Epsom - is not ideal; really want to be further out from London.

Does it have to be in the UK?

I'd like to move over to Switzerland.

Having stayed there for 3 nights back in March, I would have to say Inverness. At the Royal Highland Hotel.

It can be any part of the British Isles, USA, Canada, Aussie or NZ, or wherever you like... :D

I stayed for 4 nights in the Westbourne on the riverfront last year. Beautiful city. And the fastest growing in Europe by population - FACT! :D

Stayed there earlier this year, although my room was quite small. Nice little place, will have to go back sometime.

I know EXACTLY what house I want!

Lovely Shetland Islands :)

Bugger all around me! A nice quiet, distant life... I'll get it one day!

Oh - and if this is your house, name your price!

If I could choose absolutely anywhere, it would be Melbourne. I love the idea of a city full of trams.

As for those in this country, Bath takes some beating! Other places I would like to live in include Camberley, Cardiff and Cambridge. All of which begin with "Ca".

Staying in the UK, probably somewhere nearish Edinburgh, but in the countryside, in a small house in a field, with trees/hedge/fencing round it for privacy. (I've thought about this recently )

Another country, either Australia or New Zealand.

Somewhere in Scotland, preferably the far north.

Totally agree there. Wick and Inverness are both firmly on my wish-list - as are Fort William and Mallaig, and slightly further south, I wouldn't mind Perth. Strangely, three of these are locations of recently advertised positions with Scotrail for which I have applied!!!!

Camberley? Really? I worked there for a while, and although it's a nice enough place, I wouldn't have expected it to be high on anyone's 'where I most want to live' list.

This should bring back some memories for you then.:)

( Yes, it's the same photo that forms part of the sequence in the thread about my recent "End to End" journey ).

Really want to live in West Scotland, in the middle of nowhere...
Or NZ,
Or Canada, in those places with the lakes in the foreground, and mountains in the background
But I really want to go to America, drive through the Old West in a sports car, the only living object for miles around :D :D :D
