IC 2546 Dresden Hbf to Berlin Hbf

Booked on this tomorrow dep Dresden 1105. DB website wouldn't let me choose a seat so went to CD (Czech) instead which shows a 7 carriage train: 4x2nd, restaurant, 2x1st. The train doesn't flag up on Vagonweb.

Does anyone know if this is a loco-hauled train or if it uses an ICE unit? Just curious!

It seems to be a CD ComfortJet loco-hauled train looking at the seat map and coach numberings

The only ICE set that would fit would be a 402/ICE2.
A CJ set would be plausible though they are 9 not 7 cars.

Must be a CJ set then. Logical as Bad Schandau-Decin is blocked.

Took IC2546 this morning. It was indeed a CD comfort-jet loco hauled train, with a first class open driving trailer at the rear.

A few notes: train was virtually empty, no more than 50 people onboard. Train crew (DB) very friendly and chatty. They explained that the Usti to Dresden section was bus replacement due to engineering works, a fact that has virtually wiped out cross border travel this past week.

Route was not via direct main line but via single track Priestwitz to Grossenhain link. Not sure if this is unusual or not?

Train was very generously timed to Doberlug, no greater speed than 100km/h recorded on the excellent CD TV screen with map of route. However thereafter it did speed up, 160km/h max. And arrival was more or less on time.
