I hope somebody can help me in relation to a fip application. My partner works for C.I.E ireland and we want to do a rail journey through eu . Head office says I am not entitled to be on his Fip card as we are not married, I have a priv card and we have a signed letter from a commissioner of oaths(solicitor) to say we have lived together for 20+ years. Am i entitled to be on the Fip with my partner and our kid? I can't find a list of regulations or an official Fip website,I have found a atoc regs page but i am unsure if this is just for their members. Can anyone help me?

ATOC does not issue your FIP Cards, so their rules do not apply. CIE is outside their control.

In some countries, only the employee gets the free travel.

For instance, in Spain, only I get free travel. My partner can only get 50% off with her FIP card.

Don't think anyone here will be familiar with FIP issuing terms in CIE.

His Fip card is identical to Fip cards issued to all the european and uk railworkers so would the regulations not be the same for every rail worker regardless of their origin?

The "core" rules are, but each operator/administration is responsible for choosing (and subsequently funding) what the extent of facilities extends to.
