I have a few old tickets in my wallet, I will build up a few more and happily send through to you. I'll be using the train more often within the next month or two as I'm studying a OU degree and my tutorials should be cheaper to attend by train than to drive.

The St Ives ticket is stamped correctly from January I believe. (TM code) 24.01.13 1X81. The train manager on that service was one of the most polite and friendly I've ever come across, says it all that I still remember that journey 9 months later because of the TM.

Attached is a copy of what I have so far in my wallet, all purchased with Devon and Cornwall railcard. (I've blanked my personal bits out on the season ticket on the scan but they are left in place on the ticket still)

Hi,

I've got some older tickets and can get lots of the other tickets for you. I've also got posters, stickers, old British Transport Police security posters / stickers etc etc that we no longer use which I can send you. If you PM me your address I can get them into the post to you this week.

I can also send out a photocopy of a booklet that we once produced. It's all sorts of information about Tramlink including tramstops, flora & fauna, how the tram system came into being etc etc. Unfortunately, we don't have any of the booklets available (except for my all important last one!) but I can colour photocopy it for you.

How about a pen and pin badge? Can't guarantee the reliability of the ink in the pen but it's green and white branded LOL

Have you got a Cheshire day ticket?

I have one other ticket with a "W" next to the price (Warrant).

I've been passed a shoebox full of gems from my teenage years by my Father. I'll let you have some, Alex. I'll have to try some on ebay though.
Also found another stash from my recent ALR.

Cheers

I have a collection of train, bus and ferry tickets along with aircraft boarding cards from around the world, now I have 2 of each and if the ex girlfriend is willing to part with her ones you are welcome to them, I'll have to square it with her first which will be this Wednesday.

The joke of a company I formerly worked for never bothered collecting or asking for any of my stuff back. So I still have to unused excess pads, which I'm sure in the wrong hands could be a bit dodgey as you could pretty much write your own tickets.
A couple of carnet tickets, and my old Unpaid Fare Notices pad.

Don't know if this is of any interest???

No worries mate, I'm afraid my ex actually wants the tickets I have for herself but if I have any odd duplicates you are welcome to them.

Alex I've ben saving you all of my rail / air tickets since around November 2012 (or whenever I last sent you some). I've got a bulging A4 document wallet full of air / rail / tram / bus tickets from UK, Germany, France, Lithuania, Holland and probably more.

I'll need P&P paying for if you want them, if so message me to discuss how we'll go about doing it.

Stu.

@ Buffer68; I too keep and collect all my train tickets (unless a ticket barrier swallows a ticket and doesn't give me it back).

That happened to me on my first journey on HS1. I managed to get it back though!

Hi mate I will PM you later when I have finished my dinner :)

On another note, do stations hold quantities of used rail tickets by any chance? I remember seeing a large pile of used tickets at the info desk at St Pancras once and wondered do all stations do that. If so, are they able to give them away for free if I offer a polite request? Seeing as they will just get thrown out/recycled anyway. Also, what happens to tickets kept by the barriers at station with them installed? I emailed ATW about this and they told me simply they don't give them out and they are unable to. What about if I went to Chester (Nearest gated station) and asked the station manager politely? Is he/she in such a position that allows this, or are they not allowed under rules to open the ticket barriers?

CHeers!

Gateline staff at Leeds, Liverpool James Street, Liverpool South Parkway, Stratford International, St. Pancras and others have opened the barrier to retrieve my ticket.

I think I've only ever been refused once, Blackpool North IIRC.

That makes sense, the station staff at Blackpool are horrible. Gave me a good laugh though when I annoyed them and got told off for it!

Nice to have a sense of humour in those situations I guess.

When I showed my ticket to the staff at Blackpool they said put it through the ticket barrier and I said I want to keep my ticket and he opened the gate for me, I dont think he was very happy though.
