Hull Trains Diversionary Routes

Due to cable theft this morning, everything is being delayed between Doncaster and York. It looks like all trains are having to be talked past the 2 level crossings immediately north of Doncaster Station, possibly all the way to Shaftholme junction.

This got me thinking. In times of disruption like this, do the crews sign the route via Goole, and are the 80x units even cleared to go that way?

Yes HT sign Goole and yes the 80xs are cleared that way. I once did a HT service (on a planned diversion) that went via Goole and the MML so hardly touched their usual route

The morning LNER ECS from Doncaster is booked to run via Goole so that presumably retains their route knowledge as the evening return is a passenger service via Selby.
