How should the Crewkerne issue be resolved both short and long term?

So, we're a long way from July now, and the embankments must be sufficiently very wet by now. Trains are still running every 2 hours in the evenings from Exeter instead of every hour. Does anyone know what the Engineering justification of the continuing restriction is please?
The normal timetable hourly between London Waterloo and Exeter returns tomorrow Saturday 29 November 2025.

Normal timetable from tomorrow according to SWR. According to their press release they are offering 20,000 additional Advance tickets starting from as little as £13 and a wide range of off-peak tickets for journeys between Salisbury and Exeter will also be discounted by one third. The offers apply until Dec 17th. Obviously a lot of people have turned to alternative means of transport so they are trying to get them back

Ah, thank you
They still seem to have unit problems. The Facebook SWR passengers user group has been complaining about three coach trains instead of the normal six on some journeys.
