I reckon a 390 could hold more than an 86 set. hats the problem with Loco Hauled, It limits your abilities to choose how many MK3s you want, as you have to add on a loco & DVT & then get it to fit on a platform!

Really? As a 9-car pendo has 294 standard seats over five carriages, whilst four Mk3 TSOs would provide 304 seats (at standard 76 seat configuration) that seems a strange statement, you'd even get eight SC toilets in 4xMk3s compared to four in five coaches with a Pendo.

And to top it off, a Mk3 set running with four TSOs was a shortformed set.

You missed the "of the same length" part- weren't the loco hauled services that they replaced usually of rather more than three or four carriages + a loco?
VXC Mk2 set - 26F, 342S seating capacity.
220 - 26F, 160S, 221 - 26F, 220S.

Food for thought.
