Saw this post on Reddit today, where somebody was stranded after their train arrived late and staff managed to get them onto a train as far as possible to their destination.

At their destination they were given a “Hotel Voucher”, this seems quite common as reading through their replies, this “voucher” was inside of a ticket offices’ binder.

I wonder if a system like this would ever be possible to be implemented into the UK.

Efficient and sensible. Very German. Could a similar system be introduced on Britain’s fragmented privatised railways? The same railway system that can't even agree to allow passengers whose train is late take the next available one in order to minimise their delay? I very much doubt it.
