Hi all, im after some information on hornbys 50048 in its original Network southeast livery, ive read somewhere that there is an error with the livery, possibly something to do with the upwards stripes at the ends, ive looked at hornbys picture of the model and compared it to a picture of the real 50048 in the same livery but i can't see a problem with it....... can anyone enlighten me as to how accurate hornbys model is?

While on the subject of hornby 50's in general, i know they made a mistake with 50027 in Network southeast livery, they left a window in place which was replaced with a air vent/grill during there refurbishment, and the very first one that came out (unrefurbished 50018 'Resolution') had its nameplate in slightly the wrong position, have hornby made any other livery/model errors with the 50's that im not aware of?

I'd be interested to hear any responces.;)

To be honest, if you want the loco you might be best not knowing, I know when I found out it put me off a bit because everytime I looked at it I saw the problem.

The first issue is that the red upward stripe is wrong, the second is that the white cantrail strip is too low, it should be above the orange line and partly on the headcode box as I understand it.

Hornbys large logo examples tend to have the orange cantrail stripe, but I don't think the real ones did, atleast not 'til later in their lives.
