Just out of curiosity, I attempted to buy a single from Heathrow to Hayes and Harlington with a 16-25 Railcard from a Heathrow Express office the other day, and I found out that not only does their particular system disregard the Railcard for pre-0930 journeys but it also assigns a £8 minimum fare thereafter... :|

(And no, the LUL ticket offices there don't sell such tickets either, with or without conncessions)

Don't go with Heathrow Express then; they fly right past it ;) I assume you mean that you're travelling with Heathrow Connect, but tried to buy from Heathrow Express?

If it's Heathrow Connect you're looking for, the tickets are available with railcard discounts as normal, according to NXEC. You don't need a special ticket; an Off-Peak Day Return or Anytime Day Return is available and no special restrictions apply when using the railcard; just the normal 10am rules.

That I'm fully aware of, but if you purchase any ticket through Heathrow Express then their own conditions apply, and unless I'm mistaken you can't buy rail tickets from anyone else if you're in Heathrow.

Oh right  Apologies for being slightly thick there.

Surely that's not allowed... (awaits Yorkie's confirmation). Just don't buy from that office, then.
