I've just eventually booked my gold reward first class ticket on the app. Went through seemingly ok but after trying to add the ticket to my wallet as usual the option vanished and all i was left with was an order saying 'seat reservation only, you must book a valid ticket'. So no ticket download option on the app. Went to my email and there was my gwr booking confirmation with barcodes for the journeys!. Concerned this might not be a valid ticket i phoned gwr who confirmed it was valid. Still nothing on the app.

Just a note for anyone else that may encounter the same issue as me - adding PlusBus ticket onto a booking made on the GWR website, that is entirely on GWR trains, makes that booking ineligible for earning GWR Reward points.
I queried this with GWR as one of my bookings did not track for points, and they confirmed as much stating "To be eligible, journeys must start and end at GWR stations and be operated entirely by GWR services with no buses or walks added to the booking. In this case, part of the journey involved another train operator, which means it falls outside the qualifying criteria."
I guess the system considers PlusBus to be a different destination station to the station itself. GWR have said they will credit me the points as gesture of goodwill in this case.

Oh I quite agree it isn't going to continue. I half expect some sort of intercity-oriented loyalty scheme though - one that is barely worth signing up for.
Hi there
I see that GWR are to be nationalised in Dec. this year. Would this mean the rewards scheme could be discontinued at that po8nt and all po8nts gained would be lost straightaway?

The 20% off food & drink is no longer valid on the Pullman, even for the regular trolley menu (ie if you buy a can of Tribute in the dining car you pay more than if you found the trolley in the next coach and bought it there).

I thought it was only 10% off food and drinks?

I would GUESS that the rewards scheme in its current guise would disappear in the medium term. Almost certainly there would be a period of notice before points would be wiped to allow them to be used or transferred to a new scheme.
