GWR Pullman questions

Morning.
My folks are travelling on the 1256 Plymouth to Paddington service in a couple of weeks on a Monday. I believe this is one of the dining services, so was considering treating them to lunch on board. There are a couple of queries I can't find the answer to; thus,

- They are travelling standard class. I understand that they can only take a table should space be available, but does anyone know what the likelihood of this is? I have travelled on a brunch service before and have had the restaurant to myself, but I imagine lunch will be busier...

- Whilst my Mother will be happy to tuck into some of the delicious wares, my Dad is much more of the "you have your main meal at teatime, and teatime is in the evening" mould. My question therefore is, do they serve a sandwich based lighter lunch, or is the menu the menu and that's what you have to choose from?

Just on the basis of previous comments not from experience:

1. 1256 isn't likely to be swamped as it starts from Plymouth. It's one I would go for when I eventually wangle a trip...

2. AFAIK main menu only (but separately priced dishes, unlike the WAG train).

I think if your travelling standard your dad will be best getting something from the buffet and having it in standard class and you and your mum ( should there be space available) go into the dining car have your meal then rejoin your dad again as I believe the dining car is only available for the Pullman dining ( there is a menu on GWR website )

I did the 10:06am from Paddington which served brunch - and I must say the staff were amazing they were friendly , always seeing if everything was alright or if you need anything else and the brunch was delicious and filled me up
