I'm not sure if anyone's talked about Simutrans here before. It's similar to OpenTTD in some ways, but it allows for deeper simulation of networks in some respects.

Anyway, here's a video talking about a map simulating the British rail network in the Experimental version of Simutrans:

It's still very much a work in progress, but hopefully this will be interesting to some!

I'd not come across this game before, so thanks for the link.

It's impressive that it can simulate networks in so much detail, so will definately be having a play when I can find a minute - I've still got several Xbox 360 and PC games to finish and/or start before I can have a real go at Simutrans!

I haven't been on it for a while, but I used to play OpenTTD regularly (and Simutrans before that!), and we attempted projects like the one above on multiplayer games - some went well, some didn't, it generally depended how much time people had.. To attempt something of that size on your own is certainly ambitious.

Lots of progress has been made on this project. Here, for instance, is a section of the minimap south of London:

A full-size version of this picture can be seen here. More information on the project is here. Videos are here.

Looking good, I remember watching the first video ages ago, think I may go catch myself up with them.

Well done!
