I have two trips booked to Scotland coming up in the next few weeks, one in June with my son which we hope visit North Queensferry the other on my own next week, I asked about tickets to North Queensferry and got very helpful replies to that query so any advice on what is the best ticket for me to run around Glasgow.I will be arriving in Glasgow around 12.00pm and I would like to take in Partick and pass Polmadie depot also take a ride on the Subway( Is it safe taking photographs on subway platforms???). Anywhere else that is worth seeing from passing train? Is there a day ticket for all or will I need separate tickets. I have a senior railcard.

I think an SPT Roundabout ticket will suffice for your needs, just over a fiver for it. Allows unlimited train and subway travel within the area permitted. From what you have said it seems perfect. No senior discount however, but good value nonetheless.

There is something called a "one" ticket, but I don't know too much about it and not sure if it is even aimed at leisure travellers. In fact I have never even seen one. See one-ticket.co.uk . I have a feeling it is the east coasts version of a zonecard though.

The roundabout is a really great ticket for pottering about Galsgow. I would recommend it.

There's the Edinburgh "Plus Bus" ticket available as an add-on to day rail tickets to Edinburgh. Does that suit your needs?

Was ideally looking for something that included local trains as well, but the PlusBus seems to be the only option.

Thanks anyway :)
