Interesting. I look forward to seeing these prototype units when they arrive in the UK.

Shouldnt be long before the mockup is completed and that is something I think many of us will want to see

Where will the mock ups be presented?

Probably and Kings Cross maybe?

Yes and St Pancras as well (if there is room) if IEP is ordered for the Midland Mainline.

How about displaying at order destinations likely to be served by IEP such as Bristol and Swansea although that said the latter will be difficult as there is not any room on the councourse to display anything

Personally, I wouldn't bet on it. EMT management (ultimately those who will be leading the procurement) don't seem too keen on tilting stock. When the cost of installing balises for the TASS equipment is taken into account (that H&S lot again ), you are looking at a lot of cost for little benefit in terms of journey time reductions, especially as of December when the MML will be 125mph in sections. I wouldn't bet on much advance on December journey times by 2019 even with station remodelling at Derby and Leicester completed by then.

I have wondered what speed improvement you would get on the map by building a Wellingborough bypass line for the fast trains (a bit like weedon) to me it looks like you could build a relatively straight and fast bit of track cutting the corner as it were.

Given the 125 mph upgrade I would say the case is even stronger for trains that tilt, the route through Long Eaton being a case in point.

In terms of station remodelling at Derby, unless NR are planning to construct a 'dive under' I'm not convinced that anything can be done to improve the current situation.
