Hello all,

I hope this post finds you well. I’m hoping to apply for future trainee train driver jobs based in Norfolk.
It seems that Greater Anglia have just completed a batch of vacancies, including Norwich. Unfortunately I just missed these.
Is it possible to say when they may advertise for further trainee train driver jobs in the future? Or, whether Great Northern is likely to be recruiting in the near future,

I have signed up for updates on their websites but if anyone has any info from experience or any insights this would be much appreciated

Don't hold your breath, it'll take quite a while before these positions come back. Greater Anglia publish new job listings every Friday (sometime after 1200), so be sure to check each week for that. I believe new driver roles are posted twice per year, but I could be mistaken. I don't have any information about Great Northern's job postings.

Great Northern recruited trainees and qualified drivers to Cambridge not so long ago (those people are currently out with Instructors).

Whilst they have depots at King's Lynn and Peterborough, there is a sizable internal waiting list for both, so there will not be any trainees recruited for these two locations for the foreseeable future.

As said above, sign up and regularly check the recruitment page.

I refer to the “Read before posting…” thread in the Jobs and Careers area. Given it’s impossible for anyone to say when the next recruitment campaigns will be, I’m going to bring this thread to a close.

Vague questions, generic posts that have already been answered, duplicate discussions or off-topic conversations may be deleted or moved to the approriate forum. Threads such as "How do I become a [insert job title here]?" or "When will X be advertising again?" are likely to be locked or deleted, especially if they have already been asked before. This includes speculative posts about positions which may or may not become open in future. Please use the "Search" function to find the relevant details.
