People will leave straight after the fight. So they will be out by 3am, asked to wait for trains at 6am wouldnt be acceptable.

I'm sure a solution is being sorted now and itll be extra trains, its the sort of thing that gets organised for football and concerts.

There is now some doubt over whether the fight will take place at all;

Two days after the announcement British boxing had waited a decade for, Dana White - the UFC president and Zuffa Boxing chief named as one of the figures promoting Tyson Fury against Anthony Joshua - was asked whether the fight would actually happen.

"I don't know," he said.

There are thousands of spaces on the road within a mile or so at night on the road. Many of the permit areas are shopping hours only. Some of the big muli-storey are however closed at night.
Which are then used by residents overnight anyway.

That time of night there would be several car parks available - Cardiff Central, St Davids, John Lewis, Capitol, Cathays/City Hall, Sophia Gardens, as well as a number in Cardiff Bay. It's all manageable.

There are thousands of hotel rooms in Cardiff, but they do seem to take dynamic pricing to higher levels when big events are on. But of course pricing works both ways, have had a Saturday night in Llanelli (when attending a family event) where price was just £19.99 at a Travelodge
Not enough for big events like this. The usual events like 6 nations, or even some concerts that have several dates at different locations will attract a more local fan base, many of which will get last trains home. This particular event will attract people from all over the country and the world, who will require hotels anyway, especially given the late timing of the match.

As for train services, there's a few TFW ECS trains between 0400-0500 that could be turned into a passenger services.
For example:
5M04 Canton - Swansea (15x 4 car)
5W13 Canton - Swansea (Mark 4)
5N05 Canton - Bridgend
5N01 Canton - Ebbw Vale (Divert to Newport)
As well as various Valleys trains.

This isn't just about dynamic pricing, this is also about supply.
As I have already said before your reply:
  • Nearly all the Travelodges are already sold out - the only ones remaining are Cardiff Aiprort, Merthyr and Newport - i.e. places you'd have to get public transport to or drive to so aren't solving the transport problem.
  • The same is tue for Premier Inn - they do have a couple more options like Bridgend and Aberdare but again it doesn't solve the transport problem as you'd need transport to get there.
  • The nearest option from Accor (Ibis etc) is Bristol or Swansea.
  • The nearest option from IHG (Holiday Inn etc) is Newport or Bristol.
  • The other usual options (the Clayton by the station, Radisson, Marriot etc) all sold out too.

Ironically, a 3am finish would potentially make unit availability easier (fuelling & maintenance permitting) but traincrew availability is likely to be the limiting factor.

...pending availability of train staff, of course
