fujifilm problems

i have got a fujifilm finepix j38 and everytime i turn it on the lens comes out then goes back in and the screen says focus error and also the screen is completly black like im trying to take a picture when its pitch black but all the other icons are displayed. has anyone got any ideas or had this problem with any other fujifilm? :roll:

My S8100fd did exactly the same thing a month ago. Rather than getting it repaired I managed to get a nearly new one on Ebay for sixty quid to replace it. Not sure how much the repair would have cost but it probably wouldn't have been much less than that and I've now got a camera that has had much less use than the original one.
