No timings, best bet for timings is Freightmaster. I had heard that Doncaster is not as busy recently as last year, although still a good spot usually.
The problem with freight is that it usually has to give priority to passenger trains, as a 66+coal hoppers doesn't quite have the same acceleration as a DMU! Timetables become a guide, something advisory.
It also depends on luck. Some days, things are disrupted, meaning trains run on different days. Your best bet is just to turn up and hope for the best. Given the nature of Doncaster, I'd suprised if you saw nothing at all. If you really need a number, is 10 enough for you?
My understanding is that Barnetby is much busier. Water Orton/Tamworth are pretty good too.
I remember one instance at Doncaster about 10 years ago when things were running a bit out of course and there were four trains including an MGR type all at Doncaster at once waiting for the Sheffield line!
These were the frieght, an HST on a Cross Country diagram, a class 156 and a class 142 on a stopper.
All four were in Doncaster at once.
Guess which order they were sent down the line in? ( No prizes! )
