Looking to go across to Atherstone next week to spot some freight but when checking on Realtrain times its not displaying any services? I thought Atherstone was a busy freight station. Does anyone know why nothing is shown?

It won't show them because the station isn't a timing point for freight or passenger services that don't call there. Try something just down the line like Amington Junction to get an idea.

If you have a car find the road from the roundabout to the North of Atherstone to Baxterley - Merevale Lane. Baxterley had a coal mine (Baddeseley) till the 1980's but its rail branch went to Kingsbury.
But there was a line long ago that linked the colliery to the West Coast line near to the north end of Atherstone station. There were also canal wharves round there.
But of interest is the mining company used Garrett steam locos on the steep incline between Atherstone and Baddeseley Colliery
I think the trackbed is still there to the north of Merevale Lane. Might take some finding!
