Frankfurt recommendations

I'm in Frankfurt for 3 nights tomorrow. I will certainly make the most of the trams and U-Bahn. I've also heard about the tram museum.

But, anything else of interest I should look out for, in terms of transport? Interesting routes, bus routes, old infrastructure, anything unique really.

Also, any suburbs or other towns nearby worth visiting?

If it isn't too far for you I can recommend a visit to Mainz, quite a nice city. Frankfurt itself has a very modern transport network (the S- and U-Bahn have had a considerable amount of new rolling stock in recent years) but Darmstadt (not very far away) appears to still have some older trams running - I've never been there though so can't give you more information I'm afraid!

Mainz and Wiesbaden are only 10 kilometers away; seperated by the river Rhine.
