First Class service on other TOCs (EMT, GWR etc)

Since we have a thread on LNER, I thought I would kickstart another one for other TOCs like EMT, GWR, XC, GA etc.

EMT weekend first:

You get a comfortable seat in 2+1 formation.
However there is no China crockery, unlike the weekday service.



In terms of complimentaries, you get the usual Tea, Coffee, biscuits, cake etc.
But you don't get cans of coke etc
However the fares are good value, my 1st advance only cost an extra £1.50, compared to the standard advance.

EMT 1st fares are often fantastic value outside peak times, but yes the offering is quite sparse compared to other London operators.

Their Breakfast Services are a bit more pricey, but still good value IMO and worth doing once if you like good food and HST's!

I've only travelled first-class once with EMT a few years ago. As it was only between Derby and Leicester I was only offered a drink - I was told I wasn't eligible for anything to eat, even biscuits! When the trolley came back I was offered another drink but didn't take it.

The lounges offered hot and cold drinks and a small range of things to nibble but I still thought they were worth using even though I remember the one in Leicester as being a windowless bunker. I notice following construction of the new platform 6 at Derby the lounge has been moved there so I may have to return and check it out.
