Final Valentas December

Date Might change from other sources but I imagine it wouldnt:.

On Sat Dec 8th, 43002 and 43003 will be formed onto a full unrefurbished set, for an out and back trip to Penzance.

It is also believed that it will be the 10:05 Paddington - Penzance working.

43002 & 43003 are expected to be the last two FGW power cars to go for re-engineering and there is a possibility that both will be formed into an unrefurbished set of trailers for some farewell running to these Valenta powered engines.

Going all out for this one. It's incredibly difficult to do without some overnighting, but it'll be worth it.

Knew about this already, but didn't know the precise date and time.

I will ensure I am not working that day. I will be at Paddington nice and early for it, for definate.

Lol! Well i cannot do it, as i'm down the Midlands the week after and on that sunday [16th] there's engineering works so cannot get to Penzance what ever, not that i could afford it as i'm non-stop train from Friday 14th - Monday 17th, not that i'm complaining can't wait as i certainly do not get out as much as i would like!

Only until early 2008? so not long really, i thought there would be a few around longer than that. . .

Depends how full Brush is really. Once the GW contract is complete, there will be more room to do the lot. Remember, there's not THAT many GNER Valentas left. Still enough, but the number of MTUs up there is mounting.

Of course, GC will have Valentas for some amount of time yet.
