According to the FGW journey planner the present 0730 Paddington to Penzance will no longer run from the December 2007 timetable change. The first through Paddington/Plymouth service wil be the 0905 from Paddington arriving in Plymouth at 12.44(The afternoon!).As a result there will be a 21/4 hour gap in services between Plymouth and Pezance from 10.25 to 12.44.What a dismal service for the south-west and does not auger well for the regions rail future as the FGW premium screw tightens

Dreadful...Maybe it'll be the case one starts further south than London instead, with connections from elsewhere?

Besides, ain't the 0730 PAD - PNZ via BRI? Takes fooking ages anyway!

Don't worry, as rediculous as it sounds, if they make it any worse it doesn't matter. As from the new timetable if that is right, it is quicker to go from waterloo and change in Exeter!! Wouldn't be suprised if SWT were tempted to run a portion to Plymouth.

The FGW HST refurbishment with its lack of tables and luggage space and limited visibility clearly shows where their priorities lies, the commuting/short haul market based on the commute on the main Paddington to South Wales axis and the regional centres along this axis.Services to much of Devon/Cornwall being long haul really no longer fit into the business model being forced on FGW by the Dfts(Rail) franchise requirements.Against a backround of continued road investment and growing air links from the two counties one now has to wonder if FGW has thrown in the towel here in order to concentrate on its bread and butter services on the M4 corridor. That certainly my impression now.

It will be an OJP error. Its not yet public for that date and departures to Swindon from London look like 0700 0715, 0745

Quite clearly an error
