Think you'd likely need an extra ticket between East Croydon or South Croydon and East Grinstead, unless you had the normally somewhat more expensive variant season ticket specifically marked "AAA East Grinstead", which I think is only an option for STs issued from Three Bridges rather than from Crawley. Or is there still some easement allowing the use of alternative routes?

East Grinstead is only approx. 30 mins on the bus from Three bridges Station. During the day its a very frequent service. if your going to the centre of the town (The Crown for example) its about 15 mins walk from the station. Overall Id say from Victoria to the Crown the quickest and cheapest for you is a fast train to Three Bridges and then a £3 bus ride from stop B outside LIDL.

There's various AAA rules for all GTR seasons. Seasons should not be issued on smartcards to make use of the extra validity.

Any season issued from Crawley or Three Bridges to East Croydon and beyond is also valid for travel to/from Ashurst (Kent), Buxted, Cowden, Crowborough, Dormans, East Grinstead, Edenbridge Town, Eridge, Hever, Lingfield or Uckfield.

The same also applies to the vast majority of other locations south of these stations, too.

Details are found within this PDF from NRE: https://assets.nationalrail.co.uk/e...099fd7947ff5df8a4/Interavailable_Stations.pdf

I was told years ago that this was no longer the case. Perhaps I should ditch the Keycard!

So just to confirm my monthly London to Victoria to Crawley monthly season ticket cannot be used and a bus from three bridges is the best option?

Perhaps ask at the ticket office at either Three Bridges or Crawley, just to make sure.

Your more likely to get the correct answer by asking on this forum than at the ticket office!

Although I can click on the link & see the PDF, I can't find the PDF. Can I ask whereabouts it is on the National Rail website, please? Many Thanks

It's linked on the staff "internal" knowledgebase. It's not on the public version of the site.

I dont understand why BR Fares quotes different fares for the AAA seasons compared to the any permitted albeit only £1

That's for "also available at Haywards Heath". The dual-availability doesn't include that by default if you look at the PDF.

In that case, maybe it's to prey on those who aren't aware of the additional validity!

Is the PDF from the internal database dated? I'm wondering if it's out of date and someone has forgotten to remove or update it.
How can a member of the public be aware of it if they can't access it?

It's from mid-2023. You might want to consider emailing Southern with a link to the PDF asking if it is accurate and still applies today.

OK, thank you.
I did email Southern. I've been told to email National Rail. Any idea who at National Rail?

Just wanted to ask a question so I have been using the monthly travel card from Crawley toLondon Victoria then I walk for 25 mins to Bond Street is there any other way that’s cheaper to get to Bond Street Right now the train costs is £429.

Ideally I want to get to work around 9am or 9:15am I then finish my work at between 5pm and 5:15pm and I have been literally walking to Victoria station which would be annoying in the winter what’s the best option you guys think is it still the best option my current ticket?

I assume you mean a Season Ticket? And that you have bought a "paper" ticket allowing you to use East Grinstead, as advised upthread?
