Fare evasion

HI everyone

In May I was caught by a revenue inspector. I was travelling on Govia Thameslink.

I didn't realise that my card is not working; it was temporarily blocked by TfL because of an outstanding fare. When I tapped my card on his device it was rejected by the issuer. He reported me, and I'm waiting for a letter.

I want to confirm if is it possible that I can solve the case out of court?

Have you received or been issued with any paperwork? If so please can you upload with any personal details or reference numbers obscured?

Most cases can be resolved out of court as long as you engage with the train operating company are honest and contrite. If you are a serial fare evader or were abusive to the member of staff this becomes more difficult .

No I did my hear back yet.When I back home I pay the outstanding fare and then my card was ready to travel.I didn't come in their attention before.

Did you tap in with the card OK before getting on the train?

You say you paid the outstanding fare. Was that for the journey that day, or for a previous journey that TfL charged you for?

Is your card registered with TfL so that you can see your journey history?

No not for that day was for previous journey.yes my card is registered with tfl.

My train was about to leave on that day I was running to catch my train I just touch and catch the train because there was not any barrier so I didn't realised whether it's blocked.when the inspector check it was not working and he took my details and pictures of my card.i contact them that I didn't received anything yet because it happens in May.so they told me I have to wait bit more.

It was my first time that inspector reported me.so I'm bit worried whether is it possible to solve the case outside of court.
