Yes, I see your point - there is accuracy in that (ie they would not easily be able to prosecute you for sitting in 1st class for trips they had no evidence that you did sit there) but in theory they could just have decided to prosecute you for the one offence you were caught at - they are under no obligation to settle with you. This is the problem with out of court settlements - they have you over a barrel if you want to avoid court / criminal record.

But what we see is that GTR are reasonable which is why my hunch was they would not seek to do that anyway.

But anyway - all good that you have the outcome you were trying to get to. IE avoid court.
