Someone got a similar fine for fraudulent delay repay claims on the GEML this week. Seems they were rumbled when they claimed delay repay for two trains that were travelling in opposite directions at the same time :roll:

I suspect there is a high level of fraud around delay repay. There are now websites showing lists of delayed trains and even offering automated submission of claims.

Other rail users pay for delay repay compensation through higher ticket prices, and taxpayers via higher subsidies.
