In the closest finish that the RailUk Championship has known, the Rovers pipped both Patchwork and the Ironmasters to the title. In what can only be described as a seesaw battle, at halftime, the Ironmasters were leading with Patchwork in second. During the frantic second half, the lead changed numerous times, before serveral key players for the Ironmasters and Rovers asserted themselves and scored the crucial points. Ultimately, Rovers sneaked ahead in the final few minutes, and didn't relinquish the lead despite a desperate late charge from Ironmasters and Patchwork.

It was a case of after the Lord Mayor show for the Mighty Men. There was no pressure on them after they had slipped out of the race for the title in the past few weeks, all they were playing for was pride. Their pride however was good enough to propel Minty to the final manager of the week award.

The battle for the UEFA cup spot took an unexpected twist when the Expats had a good enough week to beat the Angels and the "Super" 11 and dump them into the Inter-toto cup.

At the other end of the table the Cheaters lived upto their name and did just enough to avoid relegation. So we say farewell to the Muppets, who join MK Mans and Voyager FC in the football version of the abyss.

PS. I don't know if the race for the title was that close today, but it sounds good.

Congrats to Mr Ross, reluctantly a tenner going Mr Perk's way but whenever I see him is another story!

Pretty sure I haven't been top at any other stage unlike the other three so rather jammy - a stroke of luck in gambling on Dave Kitson for the last week!

13 points between the top three out of around 2000 is pretty tight - obviously all got the right idea

Well I thought for one week only, I'd bring him in and make him captain. After seeing one of his goals a couple of weeks back I decided he was a good enough player. However after hearing he was whingeing and moaning all yesterday I felt bad and wanted to substitute him. Obviously I can't do that. but don't fear, he will definetly not feature in my squad next season!
