Dear forum,
I was asked to present my railcard today for a regular travel route which had expired close to a year ago.
This is obviously massive massive negligence and oversight on my part but I have had a stressful year (I am in final year of medical school and continuously face one stressor after the next) and my ticket bookings are through Trainline which automatically applies the railcard discount for the regular journeys I have made for years. I have nothing to gain from not renewing the railcard which is £35 given the amount of train tickets I purchase and I had not opened the railcard app for probably years.
Obviously because this is entirely my fault I am willing to deal with the consequences and have already renewed but I am now very worried as there seems to be a possibility of a criminal conviction which I absolutely cannot have. I would like to mainly get advice what the likely outcome of this would be.
