Now then, is it true that EWS 66's are on a 15 year lease? If so i have a thought, could they be making enough 60's last them until say around the time the lease is up on the 66's, and have them all replaced, 60's & 66's, by a completly new build? Maybe the Genises? Just a thought........

I thought the then Parent Company of EWS, Wisconsin Central paid for Class 66s rather than been owned by a ROSCO.

Unless it's on a similar basis to Grand Central where the Rolling Stock is leased by to the TOC, or FOC in this case.

I think they are on a lease to buy contract. EWS will own the 66s once the lease contract is up.

Doubt it!!

Although let them pop, lets get some grids and bones out <D<D

Let this be a lesson from me don't listen to random people who think they know the facts.
But yeah we could do with some bones and maybe some grids if they don't turn out like the fastline lot.

I thought freightliner owned theirs?

The Freightliner 66s are owned by HSBC Rail and Porterbrook according to my British Railways Locomotives and Coaching Stock 2005 book.

Porterbrook own 66501-505, 526-537, 544-553, 601-612.
HSBC Rail own 66506-525, 538-543, 554-581, 613-622, 951 and 952

Not sure who owns all the other 66s that I haven't mentioned, they aren't in my 2005 book.
