They advise to travel as originally planned, ie as close to your scheduled travel time.
However, your ticket is valid on other trains, so if yours is cancelled or delayed you travel on other trains with your ticket. It's a simple as that.

Why doesn’t it say exactly that!

Well it does.
My reply above is how I read the ticket advice.

Your wording is significantly clearer. I did a small user test on normal people with the original announcements and they were similarly confused.
