Hi any help would be appreciated.
My son received an email from WMR Fraud Team I have attached screenshots.
He bought a ticket with a railcard not sure why as he never usually does but when questioned on the train bought the correct ticket and paid again.
We have details on his banking app of the two transactions.
How do I respond to this email?
Thank you

They're out of time to bring any prosecution. No comment and do not reply to them. They're fishing.

This company must have opened up a hidden vault of paperwork this week because they're sending out loads of speculative emails like this on old cases in full knowledge they've been too crap, lazy and feckless to prosecute them within the six month timescale. Too bad for them.

As @AlterEgo says, they are out of time to prosecute, and the chances of a civil claim are next to nil. Ignore this and all further emails.

Hopefully, your son has learned a lesson and knows that he may not be so lucky next time.

I agree with the other members' posts. Ignore the email. Do not reply. Do not engage with any future emails. They may send more emails, threatening further action. If you are worried, please reply to this thread first and not the email.

You might want to ask your son about this, because West Midlands Trains seem to think he usually does judging by the email they sent. But, of course, it doesn't matter anymore for the sake of this particular case. It's more for the sake of making sure he isn't still doing it.

Bear in mind that they're only referring to one instance in their email, but they may be aware of others if there are any. Might wanna check with your son about what he's been to to.
