I don't get why Stansted deserves an express anyway.

Express is more marketing tool than speed.

The Stansted Express has always had its own dedicated train fleet, class 322s, then class 317/7s and 317/8s, class 379s and now class 745s. In particular more space is required for luggage. The line out of Liverpool Street towards Cambridge has never been a fast route.

I do think a service which calls:
Tottenham Hale (the alt London feed, ie CJ)
Harlow/Bish (the outer/new town / home county call, ie Croydon)
Stansted M (local airport call, ie Horley)

Is more analogous and parallel in pattern with the Southern regulars to Gatwick than the Express. It’s a semi fast service which ends at the Airport.

The Stansted Mountfitchet, Bishops Stortford and Harlow Town calls are mainly for airline and airport staff to get to and from work.

That depends on our definition of ‘dedicated’. The 379s and 745s may be the only things that worked / work Stansted express services, but they are certainly not dedicated to the service.
