Electric Desiros v Electrostars

Having travelled on both Desiro`s and Electrostar, the Desiro`s are the more comfortable. The build quality is better, (i.e it does not have annoying rattles every time it goes over a set of points.) On the negative side, the interioir lighting is harsh and could have been softened. Still prfer the re-assuring "clunk" when the doors close. Gives a sense that the doors have locked compared to the gentle action of other units.

The "clunk" of the doors just gets annoying on a long journey, as does the bright lighting. Even tho they rattle the electrostars are just a more pleasant place to be. On friday i spent around 1.45 each way to Bournemouth on an electostar and i much prefer it to a journey of similar length to Coventry on a desiro.

The "clunk" of the doors just gets annoying on a long journey, as does the bright lighting. Even tho they rattle the electrostars are just a more pleasant place to be. On friday i spent around 1.45 each way to Bournemouth on an electostar and i much prefer it to a journey of similar length to Coventry on a desiro.

Ok to be accurate. Brighton-Southhampton Central (1hr46)..... Followed by another train, glad i just missed the desiro which ment i could get the XC voyager.

With regards to the rattling doors, i tend to have my noise canceling headphones on with music

Then shouldn't they cancel out the clunk of the desiro doors then?
