Hi there

Is anyone able to share a way that works to ink the ribbons on an Edmondsons ticket machine in the ticket office?

Thanks

Hi. I use "Metal Stamp Ink" on my ticket machine ink ribbons when they start to dry up. (Setright, Ultimates etc.) Similar to an Edmonson type ticket machine you have ie.metal type with ribbon. I bought my ink moons ago from Stamps Direct. Peruse their website. It's an oil based ink and requires a lot of bottle shaking before you use it. Don't be tempted to use ordinary stamp pad/embossing ink. It doesn't work ! Hope this helps.

You could try contacting Swanage Railway as they have issued Edmundson tickets and they actually print the blank ticket stock for some heritage railways. martin.trott@swanagerailway.co.uk is the passenger services manager.

I happened to notice this on e-bay today, it's in the 'bus and coach - ticket machines' category so may not come to the attention of preserved railways / railway collectors.

I am not the seller, and have no real connection with them, other than having bought a few things from him over the years - he has been around selling (mainly bus) ticket machines and ink ribbons / ticket rolls for a long time.

I think this may the item you referred to? This is an ink ribbon for an Edmondson machine.

Thank you for that link to the Edmundson ink ribbon. I’ve been looking for that for ages; joined this Forum half an hour ago and hey presto! Fantastic source of info, thanks to all.
