wel im stil not sure wev seen the end of the problems! I suspect for a sart that the only way locals will be persuaded to use it is by cutting the 100 bus service and forcing all to use a system with a longer journey and a less helpfull terminus, something which wil put me off anyway. Other than that I woant use it apart from a bash on first introduction and it wil be a tourist attraction only. If they took the time to ask the majoritty of locals wed have told them NO! i wonder how many years it wil be til the whole thing shuts down?

Having the tram run from the Airport just to Haymarket would have been the worst of all worlds. Expensive to build, and still not running to the city centre. Edinburgh is a popular place with continentals, many of whom have trams in their home cities. They would have been confused arriving at Edinburgh Airport as to why the tram did not go to the city centre.

And after all the effort involved in building the line down Prince's Street, Edinburgh would have been a laughing stock if they never used it. Thank goodness someone saw sense.

I would hope that the word 'Trams' doesn't become so toxic that no further schemes will be built. I would hope that other councils will have learned much from this sad situation and make sure their plans are well thought out before being given the go-ahead. It's a shame too that it has to be used as a political tool and some people using it to suit their own political bias.

Yes, that's a major concern. I just hope that people start to like it once it settles in.

They're not using it.
They're about to begin rebuilding it as the tracks aren't safe for trams to run on.
I think it's next week that Princes Street is closing again, meaning George Street will be chaos as all the bus routes will be running down it. All of which is bad news for businesses on George Street.

And bad news for those of us who have to put up with this on a regular basis.

Isn't that the perfect cue for using a bicycle instead?

Heh, no thanks, it's the far side of Newtongrange and I'm somewhat out fo shape atm. I think I'd be dead before I got to Nicolson Street

I think heading out to the 720 will be more trouble than it's worth, heading up over North Bridge looks to be the best route, then just cutting through the back streets where possible from there.
