East Coast "Reader Offer"

East Coast are repeating the "Reader Offer" of cheap Advance Standard and First Class tickets in conjunction with some newspapers. For example, Edinburgh - London single for £11.50 Standard. An advert appears here stating that the details are in today's Scotland on Sunday.

Copies of Scotland on Sunday are rare in snowy Leeds, so I don't yet know if this offer is password-based on needs vouchers.

Extra information would be very welcome.

I used the YEP offer at the end of last year, but the NXEC guard didn't check the tokens on the trip to and from London. Still it is a good offer if you can get the right tickets.

The ad states that each passengers must collect 6 tokens from the paper and "When you travel, you must take your tickets and tokens with you" though "We suggest that you book your tickets before you have collected all of your tokens."

I'm not sure what that says about the relative quality of the Post and the Chronicle!

They're both crap. The editing in the Chronicle can be very bad. At least once a week you'll see a small paragraph on local news, and next to it on the opposite page will be the same story but written slightly differently.
