It's basically a wheel with a platform each side, the wheel goes between floor and just below the knee. Foot on each platform with the wheel between yiu legs, Lean forward to accelerate and lead back it stops. They are fast a and very agile.

They have managed to be gloriously ambiguous about e-scooters from public rental schemes (which can be presumed to have good quality batteries ?). The text starts by saying "privately owned ... will be banned", but elsewhere omits that qualification.

There's probably not a massive reason for taking a rental scooter on the Tube, it would be easier and cheaper to rent one (or if not available, a Sadiq cycle) separately at both ends, as they are charged not by distance but by the minute.

True, but the ban also applies to TfL premises. I could probably come up with a sane reason to be on a station concourse with one. Anyhow, rules should be clear. Hopefully the actual rules will be.
