Was speaking to a friend of mine who works as a Northern Rail guard out of Barrow-in-Furness and he reckons that the DRS (Direct Rail Services) passenger services will be back on in 2013 - with rumours of plans that DRS are interested in running more services on the Cumbria Coast Line on an Open Access basis. Anyone know anything of any substance about this? Did anyone use the services when they ran in 2012?

I dont know the line and services well enough but would have said that an open access business in the season at any rate would be a major success.
As fare as the Glowex is concerned the reintroduction of the public service coach in addition to those set aside for workers would be a good start.
