It would be very uncomfortable for the driver to have one leg on the dashboard whilst driving and playing on a PSP :|
not sure about this

Interesting... some 66 drivers elsewhere said it was the most comfortable way to drive, with one leg up and the other on the DSD. I guess it comes down to personal preference and height etc.

As for foot on Dash, well there's nothing wrong with that in my mind. I drive 175's with one foot on the dash & I'm not alone judging by the worn paint exactly where I place my size 9's! Well the DSD pedal is to large on a 175 & requires both feet to be lifted when it sounds which is one more thing to deal with especially as 175's DSD just sounds every 60 secs regardless of what you are doing. Class 150,153 & 158 (& most other trains) DSD's will reset the timer if you move the brake or power handle so when coming into a station you dont get the DSD kicking off & distracting you.

I've spoken to plenty of drivers and they have all said that driving with your feet up is comfy and sometimes they have both up while going along in some cases with there bag on the DSD pedal or whatever.

Take Carlisle, most of the Freights that just pass through the station (not very many, most stop) most of the drivers have there feet up with seat reclined back with there right arm on the Power handle.

Which had the red tail lights photoshopped out and headlights photoshopped in...

I remember that pic of the Virgin Driver. Not sure about the lights being photoshopped, but it was plainly obvious to anyone who took the trouble to look deeper that the train was at a stand due to both the background and also the power car being equally sharp in the pic.

and would anyone really put that much effort in just to get a driver into trouble?

Some people undoubtedly would if a few thousand was forthcoming from the media for the photo's!
Why would anyone go to the trouble of stabbing someone for the loose change in their pocket? But some do it all the same!
