Do you think CrossCountry will ever manage any stations?

it is odd that XC runs no stations esp the ones where only they use services: eg burton no trent, tamworth, willington, wilnecote, water orton and probably some others too! These were used by former central trains trains but now owned by EMT. I think it kind of strange that EMT is made to lok after them instead of XC. Though of course Xc run trains throughout the uk but usually these are only a small minority of services instead of all of them. Would make more sense for the stopping Xc services eg leicester-birmnigham and nott-birmnigham to transfer to east midls as they aren't really "cross country services". That would provide a better incentive to be maintained properly.

Coleshill Parkway is operated by London Midland but only served by XC - it's not all EMT!

Seriously, it makes sense for XC not to manage any stations: they would probably only end up managing small stations on their routes, which would involve a lot of geographically-spread work for next-to-no benefit. If the "local" operator (in the geographic sense of the word) manages the station instead then it can be bundled in with the nearby stations they run anyway.

quite- most small stations are managed by a local area station manager, with a local maintenance team covering them.

How far away would "local" maintenance be if XC were resonsible for Manea, rather than NXEA?

There are oddities- Waterbeach, between the NXEC Cambridge and Ely stations, is operated by FCC- in this case the majority of trains stopping there are FCC, but it isn't far from the FCC stations north of Ely or south west of Cambridge.

CrossCountry won't manage statinos, as statinos are managed on a geographical basis. Look at Southern - they manage Epsom, where the main provider of services is South West Trains, they manage Reigate, where it is Great Western, Balcome where it is Thameslink etc. Stations are managed by the geographical operator, rather than the one who provides the train service.
