Our new ticketing site is now live! Using either this or the original site (both powered by TrainSplit) helps support the running of the forum with every ticket purchase! Find out more and ask any questions/give us feedback in this thread!
No. But organisation that rely on people having a high degree of accurate and written skills as a core part of the work the organisation expects them to do surely need to be confident that those they appoint have that skill set.
After all, many TOCs state that they are prepared to only deal with matters to do with fare evasion in writing after cases are reported for investigation - so by definition all parties involved need to be able to do that.
Not at all.
Can you, perhaps help us with what We and the OP are supposed to understand from "There are child tickets purchased on your account and home address all via photographic evidence"

Agreed, I was responding to the suggestion that it was written by someone who didn't go to school in this country. I don't disagree that these emails are poorly worded. I merely wanted to correct the assumption that the person(s) responsible are not from the UK/schooled in the UK.
I will raise this and another similar email from another thread to the head of department as feedback as I do think it's looks poor on the company. Not that it should change the outcome of the OP.

It says "Please can you provide your date of birth as there are child tickets purchased on your account and home address all via photographic evidence". Quoting only half a sentence is bound to make it sound incoherent.
Other than a lack of commas, it's clear that they are requesting proof of DOB and address due to child tickets being purchased on the account linked to the original ticket.
