Hi folks,

I'm trying to book a seat on a EuroCity service from Copenhagen to Luebeck in June. All's well so far and I get right through to picking the service I want.

Then i'm presented with this screen:

https://imgur.com/a/3oupjKZ

What seems to happen is that the box is originally ticked, then when I hit 'proceed', it unticks.

So I can't do anything- as it invites me to select the only service on the list, but I can't tick the box, there's nothing to click. So i'm just stuck here despite the fact that it says the train is available to reserve. The usual tricks of switching to the German site or trying a different browser do nothing.

Any ideas? Cheers in advance.

On the German version the reservation box is greyed out, also for a random date before the summer timetable change. Problem with the reservations system?
Give it till tomorrow or mail DB

Will do. Hopefully just a technical blip.

Would it work on the DSB site for the same train?

Sadly not. Hamburg/Luebeck aren't searchable and searching Puttgarden to Rødby gives you the trains but it says they can't be booked with DSB.

Hmm, on further investigation there seems to be an issue with the route itself.

I'm able to reserve from Dresden to Praha hl.n the following day with no issues. I note that there's works in place on the ferry+rail route until June 11th, so perhaps there's doubt about whether this will be done on time or perhaps the timetable hasn't been completely finalised. Indeed, searching Rødby to Copenhagen with DSB leads it to tell me i'm too early.

Same goes with the other headache on this trip which is Oslo to Stockholm, blighted by engineering works in Stockholm and saying that the first direct train is 13:56 vice 05:59. However, at least the SJ website is upfront and says that the timetable is still being established and i'll be able to reserve when it's finalised.

Somehow I now remember (from the always informative german railforum DSO) that there will be wokrs-but not on the ferry, but on the Danish isle just north of it-So about between Nykobing and Rodby (sorry, no danish letters etc to be found easily here). Thats probably the explanation-which can be confirmed by trying out other dates or searching for announcements by google for it.
In general such modern online bookings are only trusted out to the www when the real and final details are there-as otherwise the railways would be bothered too much with all those changes to inform clients.
